Hello again,

I have my C6 back up and running with a new alternator. One issue that has had the garage puzzled is that the drivers window will not stay shut. When it is raised to the closed position, it reaches the the top and then opens again of its own accord, as if there's an obstruction.

Has anyone experienced anything similar and can offer a resolution?

Cheers

Roost

There is mentioned somewhere that after the car has been without electricity, there might be a need to "relearn" the window how to behave by stepwise rising it to the top position (or something like that)

Thanks Tjensen,

Can you please explain what you mean by 'stepwise rising it to the top position'?

Do you mean moving it up in short steps rather than letting it go up on the one touch close?

Hi, Tried this method but to no avail. The window still reaches the top and then drops back down as if its sensing an obstruction.

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance. Rooster

Rooster, there may be a error in the BSI.

Check out my recent post on battery disconnection and more importantly battery reconnection, then follow window recommissioning to the letter.

If that fails, clear the error faults and error logs (you will need Lexia or latest software to be able to access the error logs. If there is a fault, it will probably be in the drivers door ECU and the same error repeated in the BSI

Hi gmerry,

Did you mean this previous post:

Hi all, the BSI is basically a computer so can become corrupted, especially if servicing has been shoddy/batteries have been removed whilst the computer is active.

Attached is a copy of a Peugeot procedure: I imagaine it would be the same or similar.

Put the driver's window down, lift the bonnet and ensure all equipment is switched off.

Ensure all doors are closed and remove key from the ignition.

Wait for 3 minutes, disconnect the vehicle battery and wait 15 seconds.

Reconnect the vehicle battery, wait a further 10 seconds (do not open doors.).

Switch on the side lights through the driver's window.

Switch on the ignition and check system's functionality.

Hold lock button on key down for 10 seconds.

Remove key open & close door test central locking system.

Start the engine and complete the system's check.

If so, thanks very much. I will try it

Hi Rooster, thats it.

Remember for C6, battery is in the boot so dont worry about the bonnet but have the boot open before starting procedure.

You may still need Lexia to clear any faults or log overflow.

Best of luck

Bumping this old thread. Had the same issue, no matter how I tried to re-learn it, the window didn't want to stay up (even lifting the window with the manual (first click) mode and holding it in this mode, instantly scrolled to half way again).

And then I found this thread. BSI reset and relearning after it fixed the window.
