Citroen annonced in 2010 a new service: "etouch", quite smart. And won a prize for it. It sends coordninates and connects to Citroen service if you press the chevrons-button or an emergency center if you press the SOS-button. A serious accident will automatically do this. On the one hand a lot of C6's (2010--> ?) have the buttons, but C6 was not mentioned as having the service. It is possible to be connected to the service as an after-sales service, an I will try this in Norway.

What is the status of C6 and etouch ?
If we do not have the service, what are the buttons for ?

The type/class of service depends on which country you are in and the age of the car. Ie not all European countries and coverage is not for the life of the car.

Thanks for answer, I will inform if I get positive answer from Citroen. In Norway there are "restricted etouch", but in Germany (its a german car) the service was full from 2010/11 I think. Citroen Norway will check via my VIN number if I have the electronic box that is necessary. Marketing of etouch in Norway is half-heartedly, but it is there. I will tour Europe in the end of the month, so it would be nice to have.

It is a 'paid for' service after the 1st year Citroen Assist ends as far as I am aware

I tried it when I bought the car. In England, it rang and rang- I gave up after about 1 minute. In France, it actually worked, although one could not turn the damn thing off, and nothing worked except the call to the centre.

They said that it overrides everything unless one pulls the key out, so don't try this when going along!

My car is 2009.......
