This evening on starting the car the system hung on Jukebox then would reboot - rinse and repeat. If I changed source as soon as it rebooted then next reboot it would be fine until I tried selecting Jukebox again ... I can look at the Jukebox stats and even deleted a few tracks I've recently been meaning too. I tried reflashing with 8.20 - unit rebooted while identifying the disk whi9ch was a bit worrying, however it did complete, however after that it just hung on identifying Music list. Going to ring the garage tomorrow to see what's the next step - fortunately I took out an extended warranty. |

Well the good and bad news is it looks like my album list corrupted causing it to hang. Good news is no need to get a replacement unit fitted under warranty (too much would need reloading), bad news is the only way I was able to fix it was to reset the jukebox and so am now having to copy all my music back on to it.

I recently had a problem like that. The RT5 system contantly wanted to re-boot. It obviously had a difficulty with reading a local part of the map structure. When I was 60 km's away the system found itself back. When coming back to my home address the problem came back. Obviously an error on the harddisk. After taken the Harddisk out. I linked it via USB to my Home PC system and did a disk check. It found no errors but (obviously ?) cleaned the MBR. When I put the RT5 system back together the problem was gone. Since then no problems anymore.

I had to replace the HD in my RT4, I was experiencing random hangs on startup (up to 20mins), connected to a PC, it didn't appear to be faulty. But replacing the HD and no problems now.
