 G'day one and all,

After also struggling to detach my panel IAW the owner's manual instructions, everyone's experience and advice above was exactly what I needed !

I too used the handle of an egg flipper as Garfield recommended, and hey presto !

 Many thanks for sharing the 3d print files it helped a lot for me to repair the plate holder.
I have them printed in ABS, the boot part is also ABS glued the parts together with acetone and some Lego bloks dissolved in acetone.

Bolts and nuts from stainless steel. Is now better than new.
