Hi,

My Sat-Nav does not accept Post codes for direction, is this normal on the C6?
It would appear that the Sat-Nav info says 2006-2008 map in the menu.

Thanks

Cheers

No Citroen Navidrive system supports full post code search.

It's been well discussed before. You have to input by country, town, street, door number.

It would help if we knew what car you had and whether it has RT3/RT4 or RT5 fitted as there are differences

Try using a postcode instead of the town - at some point (not sure what year) partial (first 4 characters) were usable, just not obvious on to how to do it. Think it was with the 2010 maps though.

Mine uses postcodes on the town option, just the first part

Citroen don't use the full 7 digit postcode system that we have in the UK only the French version so 1st part only makes sense

Hi C6Dave, that's interesting, I have a 2007 2.7ltr Exclusive lounge as for the other numbers I will have to use the car instructions and get back to you, do you know by any chance how to tell what unit I have fitted, is there a way to check on the unit itself?

Cheers

There's a could of ways to tell:

RT3 comes with the maps on a CD that runs from the head unit

RT4 comes with the maps on a harddrive

RT5 as per RT4 but with bluetooth

It'll be an RT3 then, as it requires a disc to be inserted

Thanks

Odd that because the user guides clearly state that entering a postcode is far quicker than typing the address?

You can enter partial postcodes in the UK, just not 7 digit full ones, however in France the codes have less digits so should work fine there.

They did, Dave, but about 15 years ago the French got very fed up with having to quote the full reference to the house and so went back to a sort of generic area code. Thus, my house in France is 50450 Hambye, which actually covers about 15 km around Hambye, in the 50 (manche) departement.

For satnav, this isn't a whole lot of use, and one has to put the road in, as well.

My original address in France was 69-Jons, France, and everything got there!

Thanks for clarifying Tim, I was only repeating what I was told as I haven't been to France. Looks like I have been fed a lot of horse about Navi Drive capability over 'le pond'
