The FAQ is quite clear, some of the additives cannot be mixed which is why the unions are different colours.

White is Rhodia DPX42 and cannot be mixed with any other additive - Click Here -

You can't mix some of the different types of fluid.

Hi C6dave,
apologies for bring this up again, if im reading the documents correctly (reason i'm on asking advice is my Citroen garage seems to have given me the wrong Eoly fluid? or did they? Infineum 7995? My RPO number is indeed 10910, and according to one of the documents on the forum anything built after RPO 9492 is Eoly 176 or Infineum 7995, but it also states if i'm reading things correctly that after RPO 9492 you need to check the colour of the connector first and then go by the RPO number second?

Does that sound correct, So as you stated its DPX42 i need not Infineum? My additive tank has a white connector and a black tank, i think its a siemens system? What happens if you put the wrong additive in? Luckily i check things many times before i act these days.

kind regards

There are some remarks about compatibility in the material, some of the fluids can be mixed, so it is not so difficult as it seems....

My 2.7HDi (RPO 10607CJ) has been telling me 'FAP Additive Low' at each startup for a couple of weeks. I've not been using the car as it's been undergoing front suspension surgery.

Am I right in assuming that this is the Eolys stuff?

Hi e3steve,
Yes, that's what I've been getting for while now as well. My build is 10910CJ near enough to yours. My local garage seem to have ordered the wrong additive for mine as my connector to the additive tank is a white one. Did you check the colour yet of your connector. It's very easy fill the tank by the way. Reset is by Lexia as well. I'm still waiting for my garage to advise further. If my garage had filled the tank as well with Infinuem what's the worst that could happen?

Kind regards

Hi all, just a general request for info regarding Eolys additive filling. Has anyone recently topped up the additive tank in a C6 from the 2006/07 model yr?
Did you happen to notice the colour of the connector? And what type of additive was put in by idir your Citroen garage or yourself? Many thanks.

Kind regards

I've been a bit puzzled by this additive. The service schedule says to top up at 80,000 miles and replace FAP at 120,000. My dealer advised to wait for the warning message and then do it. I'm now on 150,000 miles - no warning message for additive level or indeed anything regarding depollution at all. I've owned the car from 5,000 miles so know that it has never been topped up.

I'm quite strict on only re-filling the car when (nearly) empty and do regular long journeys - and accept that the 2.2 probably uses less fuel but has the same additive tank as the 2.7.

Do other members get this warning message around 80,000 miles or is it generally at a higher mileage?

Mostly long Journeys and quality diesel = long FAP life

Hi Dan595,
my warning regarding the additive level came on the display at around 112,000miles give or take a few miles. When i checked the additive tank visually it had i would say about 0.3litres (+ or -)left to go. I'm thinking the previous owners put in a 1 litre topup, because apparently its at 0.5 litres left at 80,000miles when the warning start on the display! 1 Litre most likely equates to 30,000 miles on from the 80,000? Does anyone know if the early C6's also had a tank float and dont need a reset ECU? Thanks.

All 2.7 HDI equipped C6es have the same FAP system specs, they're all fitted with the 3.5 Ltr Eolys tank with green caps.
There are different brands of the stuff available, like Walker, Patfluid, Powerflex and Infineum. The packaging types vary, pouches or containers, but all click fit refill sets are color coded and should be green for all 2.7 HDI.

Hi Robert,
my experience of the last few days in tackling a refill on the Eolys tank suggest as G had stated earlier with some 2.7 C6 the connector is white. Mine is white. See picture posted below.

People need to be carefull regarding the refills. And as a colleague said my Citroen dealer has limited experience of C6's and has in fact never filled the Eoly tank of one C6 yet!

Kind regards

About this, it is easy, no C6 got DXP 42, this is old system used until 2002. From 2002 (rpo: 9492) all cars use Eolys 176, after some time they changed Eolys 176 to Infineum F7995 which is the same liquid from another producer (it is cheaper).
Eolys 176 and Infineum F7995 can be mixed.
There are more systems PSA (like Eolys Powerflex which got blue plugs) is using, but in C6, there is nothing else.

From citroen documents: The EOLYS 176 additive is replaced by the INFINEUM F7995 additive When current stocks are exhausted, only the new product will be supplied.

Thanks a lot Jumep for that great explanation. I think I'll rest assured now I know what to do. Thank you for your help.

Dave, from where did you obtain your topping-up kit please?

I visited my preferred local Citroën dealer recently (for my brake pedal switch kit), Yeoman's of Fareham. Their menu service (biggie) is £250, plus an extra £40 for a brake fluid change, plus £200 to top up the Eolys tank... That's a bit of an OUCH!

Hi Steve,
I got my Eoly additive refill kit 3-Litres from Midi Auto L'Orient, in France, and i bought after Christmas with Suspension parts as well delivered, I got Infinuem 7995, €92 for the 3-litre kit. But now since the Euro has dropped its gone up i believe to approx €125 now, but you'll be buying with Sterling, which should bring that back down again. Everything is dearer since January i'm afraid.

kind regards
