Hi guys

It turns out the mark on my vehicle is a customised plate (ends in WEB, previous owner was called, wait for it, Mr. Webb)

As I advertised it on Regfinders I had a quick look and for £500 (after VAT and plate making) you can have:

___C12OEN____

Pretty cool, I thought. 'C12RON' is LOADS more (about £3K I recall) but 'OEN' is much better anyway I think.

Anyone going to get it?

I prefer the one I saw on a Chrysler in South Manchester - C6 NUT.

Some of the private plates in the UK now command £100,000! Never understood the attraction myself, although I did think Steve Parrish's PEN 1S was rather amusing .

In Germany, you can have whatever you want, as long as it hasn't been taken. The cost is something like 50 EUR, I believe! So, in Berlin, it's quite common to see plates like B MW 335. How much would that cost in the UK?!

I never saw the attraction either, particularly with something that was related to the owners name. However I nearly bought a 1990 M5 about 12 years ago which had the reg "BMW M5" or M5BMW can't remember which way round it was . Kickin myself to this day as it was being sold reasonably priced with the plate included !

I've never been tempted myself, but when I first moved to the UK I noticed "MB 1" (my initials) for sale for £4,000. Now I see anything with three letters and a low number is going for five figures or more. I'm kicking myself I never bought it, it has out-performed all property and equity markets

Crickey, that would be worth a fortune now, Michael! £4,000 to £150,000 in how many years?! I recently saw FU 2 for sale at £300,000. That was being sold by Billy Smart Jnr, together with BS 1, which was the plate used by Brett Sinclair in the Persuaders!

Personally, I prefer my own personal plate - Click Here -
