I have followed the guidelines on how to remove and refit the starter (2,7HDI). The new starter is getting 12v from the solenoid wire (8mm) via fuse F8. However, I am not getting any voltage from the thick wires going onto the 12mm nut. The result is that the starter is simply giving me a single click. No sound of rotation at all, which I suppose is because of lack of power. The starter works perfectly on the bench directly connected to a battery. What am I missing here? Is there a fuse connected to those thick wires? Can my broken starter who suddenly grinded to a halt have burnt or blown something? The battery measures fine. | ||
