Filled up with diesel today and the fuel flap won't stay shut! The little solenoid operated lug is stuck in its housing. I tried locking and unlocking the car several times to no avail. No amount of poking, lubricating and wiggling has made it move - so I can't shut the fuel flap properly. To make things worse, when I was trying to jiggle it the lock mechanism dropped inside the rear wing somewhere! I don't think you can access it from the boot so it seems to me that the rear seat has to come out (mine are loungepack!).

At least I can still put fuel in but obviously need to sort it out ASAP. Anyone got any ideas please? Thanks, Bob

UPDATE: All sorted now. Access is easy - pull the wheel arch liner down. The mechanism had failed in the 'unlock' position and furthermore drained anew 100A battery overnight!

Hi Bob

You wrote "Access is easy".
But how did you solve it?

Defunct mechanism replaced with a good one - twist to lock into place on a bayonet type fitting. Easy peasy.

Seems to be another "classic" C6-fault.

The same was replaced on mine before I bought it...
