Some of you may have seen my post of 2017 when I was minded to sell my C6. Luckily that year my Consultant discovered that my brain tumour had remarkedly stopped growing and badgered the DVLA into re-issuing my licence. Even more surprising, that position remains today. However it is with sadness that I am now putting up GP56XPX for sale. I my 80th year and with the car now being seldom used, I have decided it is best that the car goes to another C6 loving owner. Covid and lockdown has proved that we can manage well with just one car (my wife's C3 Aircross) and she now does the majority of driving. As we all know, a C6 is made to be driven - but she says that it is too big!! GP56XPX is a 2006 2.7 diesel in black with cream leather. It is the Exclusive model with lounge pack. Mileage is a genuine 108400 miles and it comes with a full service history, all bills and a MOT expiring 1/12/2022. It has been mainly used for continental motoring and proved to be a most comfortable, reliable and quite economical cruised returning about 39mpg on these trips. The car was originally owned by Citroen Slough and sold to a Devon business man who used it for commuting. I bought the car in 2010 and since it has been service every 10000 miles and had any issues arising dealt with. Cambelt, water pump and all ancillary belts were replaced at 90000 and recent MOT advisories on a DPF exhaust link and slight oil leak have been resolved together with both lower ball joints. In the past it has had a new alternator and hydraulic pump, new discs and brake pipes and front steering components - all bills are available. Everything works although the cruise control sometimes need the customary reminder with a thump below the steering wheel. One thing I have not bothered with is a flickering near side headlight on main beam when it gets hot. I seldom drive at night and when I do I find the dipped beam perfectly adequate. My "garage man" who has looked after the car since the extended warranty expired did try once to fix it but it only worked temporarily - he says he would repair again but warned that it was particularly fiddly and I felt it not worth bothering about ( I trust him implicitly having dealt with him since he was an apprentice 40+ years ago). Any trial welcome - looking at prices on Ebay and Autotrader, I feel £4500 would be fair. Hello Robthewad, Nice to hear of the good news on your health. You appear to live in a nice spot. You certainly have looked after that car well. Best of luck with the sale. Best regards, Phil C. |

Many thanks Phil - I am still torn about letting it go but feel it's best that the car be used as it should. Best regards Rob W |

Lovely car and beautiful photos. They are a credit to you and your C6 will no doubt be a great buy for the lucky next owner. I wish that mine looked half as good as my seat leather is now showing water and my wheel rims evidence of moments of inattention. Every drive however reminds me how much I enjoy her and all her foibles and can't think of another car to replace her. Apart from a perfect SM or DS of course, but they require much deeper pockets than mine. From New Zealand, the prices of C6's always look way too cheap to me! All the best. |

In the end I kept the car !! - reason - one final special trip for the 80th. As usual in re-kindled my love for the car (and French roads) and I have toddled about now and then to ensure everything is OK. Mileage is now 112000 and MOT now expires 1/12/2023. Had an advisory for a cv boot which has been done. There is a car park scrape on near side wing (no dent just some kind soul's paint residue - he or she departing without leaving any contact details). I will get this done before any sale. This time it has to go to a loving home and am exploring membership interest before I put it on Autotrader or Ebay. |
