Lignage drivers foot rest

 In my drivers footwell, the foot rest is missing it's finishing touch. Something has been glued there in the past, but it's always been missing during my ownership. Should it be finished simply with bit of matching carpet or something else? A picture would be helpful. This is a 2.2 Lignage manual. Thanks, Eric
