Just bought me a C6 after years of wanting one, wondering if anyone can advise what maintenance would be advisable to get done upon purchase? It has done 80k miles and is a 2007 model, can't tell if the cam belt has been done or not, is there a way to tell or should I just go ahead get this done as a precaution, is there anything else I should have done aside from an oil change? Many thanks for any help... |

If you are not sure, what has been done, I would recommend to change all belts (3). An oil- and filter change of course. All other filters: Fuel, Air, Interior filter Check the front axle for wear, especially all rubber parts... |

Hello Yangster, Congratulations on your purchase. As per Fraunie and consider changing the coolant inlet tank and the clutched pulley on the alternator. Best regards, Phil C. |

You're right Phil: Changing the pulley BEFORE it breaks the alternator is definitely a good idea and can save a lot of money... | ||||

I'm not sure of anybody in the Kent area, however, BL Auto's in Welwyn Garden City are very well known for being superb in the C6 circles and have been used by numerous members on here. I quite often travel from Glasgow down to have them work on my cars if it's not something I want to do myself. David. |
