Axle stand location

 I have read the FAQ but wondered if somebody could confirm the correct location for an axle stand on our cars

The picture is a little ambiguous

 Any tips on jacking and supporting our C6's would be appreciated

Seems silly that these modern cars are somewhat lacking in obvious structural places to lift them

 Thank you, I will use a piece of soft wood to spread the weight


The book does suggest we jack our cars up underneath the B pillar utilising a rubber pad, is that what everyone is doing?

 Hello C6Marcy,

They are an awkward car to lift with all wheels off the ground without a lift. The B pillar is spot on to lift one side and then you can place stands with a wooden or rubber grooved block under the jacking points on that side. The problem is when you jack the B pillar on the opposite side the original jacked front starts to pitch over the stand due to the weight of the overhang. What I preferred was what others did here on the forum:
Placing a beam across the front jacking points and lifting the beam with two jacks (one either side) and then blocking the beam. Then doing the same with a second beam to bring up the rear.
