Hello i have noticed recently that as soon as the engine is turned off the rear of the car drops. The level in the hydraulic fluid reservoir seem to be correct with the car lowered the fluid is in line with the basket in the neck of the filler and there are no signs of any leaks. When the engine is started the back rises up and the ride seem ok. Would this indicate that the rear spheres are tired and need replacing the car has covered 90000 miles. Thanks Adrian | ||

Not related to the Spheres getting tired. More likely to be a faulty valve in the firmness regulator mounted in the middle of the back axle. There's a members how to in the tech section here - Click Here - good luck... |

By the way, if you can see the LDS level in the hydraulic reservoir, in any position you can reach through the buttons on the console, there is too much LDS in the system. The level should be between the indicators in the basket when the system is completely depressurized, which can only be done using Diagboy/Lexia. Depressurized, the car will drop another 2-3 inches!. You need to get the surplus LDS out, because it may cause the reservoir to burst under pressure. (the reservoir maintains a working pressure of between 0,5-1 bar normally). It also affects the driving comfort, because the return flow of LDS is hampered. Getting it out is a messy job unless you have an aux. reservoir made up to put on top of the one in the car, that takes up the overflow when you depressurize the car. New reservoir caps has a small hole, so you don't have a working pressure in that case. To many bursted reservoirs I guess. | ||

And sadly, in case the pressure rises rapidly, which would be the case when the cap is still on when the car comes down from a two post lift, the reservoir still won't survive... Regards, Robert |
