HUD removal / replacement

 Hello, My HUD head up display is kind of broken , I need some help removing it. I found a screw under the plastic cover, but its not moving.

Anybody tried removing? Do I need to remove the whole dash? Hope not

 Sorry to have to tell you that the Technical document says you have to remove the fascia 1st. - Click Here -

 I know the book says you need to take the dash out but...
Thinking back to when I stripped the spares car you just might be able to get to it without going that far. I have a feeling the column mounting might stop you getting the HUD out but it might be worth a try first. However, you will need to be upside down in the foot-well to see up behind the dash!!

You'll need to remove the steering column anyway and when you have, have a look up to the bottom of the HUD to see if you can get at the mounting bolts behind the column mounting. Don't forget there's one bolt going through the bulkhead from the outside slightly inboard of the wiper motor!

Get in touch if you need any parts from the one I have (except the main tilting mirror when is u/s).
