I’ve noticed that after I lock the car, with the remote key fob, that it sometimes makes weird little chirruping noises which sound like the siren making last gasps at life sort of noises.

Has this happened to anyone else? Is there maybe a backup battery I need to replace in the siren?

Also, when I was away for a few weeks my neighbour mentioned that the C6’s alarm had been going off. Thankfully all was well (and the battery wasn’t flat, which was my first concern after hearing the alarm had been going off).

Any ideas? I’ve deactivated the interior volumetric sensors just to be on the safe side with it going off, but this doesn’t stop the occasional chirruping! I’ll try and record it later.

Just realised that the chirruping isn’t related to being locked or not. It was on the drive today, unlocked and making its little noises.

Captured them on this video:

really wild guess sounds like throttle resetting itself

I would try a BSI reset, to see if this helps.

Though my diagnosis is likely way off the mark so better for someone else to feedback

The throttle— May I ask why? I know it’s a drive-by-wire throttle on these but never heard a noise. I’ll certainly consider it though, thank you.

I only thought as they "may" click open and closed as a form of calibration

sorry I know it a wild guess. You could scan for codes to see if anything has been triggered as a starting point.

Though definitely consult someone more knowledgeable than me!

Hello James,

You can test the alarm system with Diagbox. Are you happy the alarm siren is the source of the the noise?

Best regards,

Phil C.

Not particularly but it’s quite loud so I made a bit of an assumption!
