Hi All

Considering Gerry's car, not my fave colour, but he's done some good work on her & that's a big plus!!

I usually only 'do' Exclusives, but as everyone has said it sounds very spec'd up for a Lignage & also as mentioned, although the Lounge pack sounds cool, downable seats are very helpful.

So my question, did Citroen downgrade the interior spec in any other way, that may be less obvious, padding, trim, carpeting maybe? I found this very noticeable when getting in to SX/ VSX XM's then into an Exclusive, even if it wasn't leather, it just felt & sounded different.

With thanks in advance - Justin

Hi Justin,
did you have a C6 before? If I remember correctly in Gerry's car, the spec is the upgraded spec which is pretty much the same as the exclusive spec. If its a V6 then it has the Amvar setup as well. Virtually the same if the options are included for the RT3 or 4 sound system as well. Cant really think of anything else missing.

kind regards
Dave

Much appreciated Dave - thanks!

Yes I had C6XXC a 2005 petrol press car, it was the car that was in Beaulieu Motor Museum for a year

Yes a 2008, so should have the updated MP3 system; I took mine to have the Citroen DAB system fitted, but after 2 hours Citroen realised they couldn't add that to a 2005 model - Ugghhh!!!

Shouldn't really be doing this, but just not enjoying my 24v XM at the moment out here in the wilds of Ireland, but I think the C6's suspension will work a treat. Gerry doesn't want a lot & he's done the spheres, which was a real nuisance when I did mine, so as long as she doesn't have any catastrophic failures, I'll keep her going as long as I can. I'll have to keep her reg'd in the UK though, I think her road tax here, is about E2.5k - CRAZY!!

Cheers - Justin

PS - Just spotted your Irish flag, a fellow sufferer over here

Hello Chillmax,

Yep, if the car is registered from 1st July 2008 onwards it falls under the CO2 calculation for road tax which for the 2.7 is about double that for pre !st July 2008 cars were you have the option of the CC calculation. The whole system here discriminates against owners of older cars as you already no doubt know!!

You could also try convincing Hattershaun or e3Steve to sell you their 3.0Hdi but I can't see you having much luck there . The road tax is less than a pre-July 2008 2.7 HDi!! Madness I know.

Best of luck whatever you decide.

Best regards,

Phil C.

Cheers Phil

Yes the system in my new home country sux ballz!!! I knew it before I came & was determined to only drive 30 years+ & just before leaving I sold my brilliant Skyline Estate, then just a few weeks after that I saw the first 24v XM I'd seen in years, just 30 minutes away from me - I was done for, where's the crying emoji?!! I thought she was in good nik & Shaun at Citroen had even sourced her for the previous owner, but at nearly 20 years old, she's had over 3k spent in as many months & is still not right!! She would be E1450 to tax here, which I was going to, but I'll be selling her back to the UK before October, when her MOT runs out, then I'll be with the CX, BX & Audi, the later 2 of which aren't on the road yet. So what with the roads where I am, generally all over the place, I thought of a C6, the counselling having not worked, I've also been looking at classic convertibles, so maybe I'll just cut the roof off the C6 Gerrys interested me as he's done work, including the spheres, which they do need after 10 years & is annoying & pricey to do, shame it's blue/ black, but it's cheap

Hi Phil, yes it will be missed.

Giving the inside a good clean, and the leather a good feed, I rediscovered what a well built car the C6 is.
