Hi Folks, I had the same problem on the driver side. Suddenly the seat heating was permanently off. I checked the resistance and found that the backrest was ok (resistance around 1 Ohm) but the seat cushion wasn´t ok(resistance infinite). I took a signaltracker to estimate where the interruption could be. It seamed that the break would near the input wiring to the cushion. So I decided to cut the foam until that point (approx. two inches from the rear edge. I found that the wire was burned down on a length of 1 inch, but the wire was finally long enough to reconnect and solder it together again. To finish the work I glued everything together with some Silicone. Now it works and both heating elements (backrest and seat cushion) are fully functional. So a repair can be done pretty easily. And you may trick the control with a power resistor of 1 ohm under the seat(in case thats to much efford to have the seat cushion repaired)to have the backrest heated... Kind regards Marco Here are some pics: |
