3.0 Petrol 50k miles. Recently noticed when pulling up, there's a noticeable thump when it shifts down to first. No that it's a loud sound, just you can really feel it engage and the car feels like it lurches just slightly. It's had a transmission flush within the last 2 years and one of the engine mounts changed. (like this one) I'm tempted to change the transmission mounts(s) and other engine mounts before trying another flush or the dreaded valve body change I'm struggling to find a service manual anywhere with Google Can anyone point me towards details of the mounts and their locations? |

Evening Ray, If you’ve been predominantly driving in town and/or gently then the gearbox 'auto-adaptive' ECU may have adapted accordingly, thereafter the gearbox changes can appear a bit snatchy It could well benefit from an 'Italian tune-up' to alter the gear shift programming. I’d suggest a decent drive on open roads, when you can accelerate meaningfully with plenty of engine revs as a start. Then another partial change or two of gearbox oil & check with the Lexia for any stored faults in the ECU's memory. Then take it from there. By all means bring it to B.L. Autos for a test drive and check over. All the best, Shaun. |
