I must apologise for rather poorly edited post, it was the third time I had entered the comment and each time it disappeared, I probably was having some difficulty in understanding the site as new to it, but most helpful.

The correct the info the car is actually a Jan registered 2008 not 2011, so out of warranty, but as I explained to the technician, was that the problem with the ECU, if indeed there is a problem, could have happened prior to the warranty expiring.

Apparently the fault showed up on the Diagnostic check which was done with the interim service. The ride is fine on sport, but there is still a degree of wallow through bends.

Will wait and see what response the dealer ship gets from Citroen.

Hi Roger,

Which dealer are you using?

Where in London are you? I'm in NW1.

Cheers

An update. I've had mine for 100 miles, and the interrogation has worked, in that there is less pitching.

However, 75 miles of reasonably fast driving has caused the "service" to light (?clogged filter) and the Navidrive to give, er, 23mpg. Oh, well!

I am in North London, Enfield borders.

The dealer is in Hatfield

I have found on another thread on this site reference to the steering angle sensor not reading and the proceedure for configuring the sensor.

The service manager did not seem too impressed with my information and he is still awaiting a response from Citroen regarding a contribution and he is convinced that the ECU needs to be replaced. perhaps I should contact Colliers garage

I ask because I've seen a 6 around Regent's Park regularly but the owner doesn't seem to be on here.

I've used Colliers a few times now for MoT, service, buying winter tyres and rims, and always found them to be old-school helpful and down-to-earth. I've no idea how well they can handle the vagaries of modern electronic gremlins - touch wood I haven't been there yet - but it wouldn't hurt to try them.

Ha! I used to use Colliers when I lived in Islington- bought a couple of cars from them, too. I had a new BX Gti from them on August 1st 1987- remember they were concerned about keeping their dealership then.

The last time I used Colliers was to service a Dyane and after that a 2CV about 40 years ago. they were pretty good then and also used to service taxis.

I had the software update done by a dealer in Germany and it certainly improved the pitching issue.

Eh, too late.

I've been trying to phone them - disconnected - but their details are still listed on citroen.co.uk so hoping they were just having a phone problem I popped around to them this morning to see a boarded up garage and a building contractor telling me they've gone bust.

Bu66er. Now where do I go for friendly local old-fashioned service?

Well, you could go to Forge in Cookham? Such a pity about Colliers, though.

Thanks but Google Maps say an hour to Forge for me - a bit out of my way.

To save me joining the C4 forum could anyone with membership please do me a big favour and ask for recommendations for indies proximate to NW1.

Much obliged.

Thanks Dave - I knew there was something like that but couldn't find it.

I've just done a quick search but of the four garages listed within 10 miles of my home none have been reviewed. I can't believe Citroën are so badly represented in London - there must be more! I thought Alfa were an obscure brand but Alfa specialists are thick on the ground compared to this.

Well, I thought I ought to post an update on my suspension pitching problem.

Having been told by Citroen Hatfield that the ESP ECU needed replacing and having chased them up over a three-week period, I visited the Service department. Having been ignored for 15 mins, I went into the service manager’s office and asked if he would talk to me.

He appeared 5 mins later. I asked him what progress he had had with Citroen at Slough regarding them making a contribution to the replacement ECU and also updating the suspension software and configuring the steering angle sensor. By the way I was very polite and said that I under stood that they must be quite busy.

He told me he was very busy and had not had time to read his emails?

I decided to leave.

I subsequently phoned Citroen customer service and spoke to a very helpful guy. He opened a customer file on my experience and suggested I try another dealership and suggested Citroen West London.

I rang them and spoke at length to an equally helpful service advisor.

I was told that it would cost £123.00 to put the car on the diagnostic system, which I agreed to and subsequently took the car to them after a two-hour drive round the North circular.

After going through the symptoms, I left the car. They rang me through the day to give me updates on the progress.

The Car was collected the same evening, there were no faults with the ECU and the software had been upgraded.

I was taken through all the tests that had been made and the subsequent results. The only other developing fault is a worn rear roll bar link bar; I shall replace both myself for £27.00.

The whole experience at Citroen West London was a world away from Hatfield; they have dealt with a significant number of C6’s so they have the required experience.

I know it is difficult to recommend any one from one experience, but I shall certainly use them for my servicing and it certainly pays to have a second opinion.

The car now appears to ride better and drove a round trip mode 280 miles up the M1&6 without resorting to sport mode.
