C6 Petrol from the Land of 1000 Lakes

 Hi all,

I'm a long time Citroën fan with a couple of other models in my fleet already (DS 21 Pallas '66, BX 14 '90, ZX 2.0 16V '94, C5 HDi Tourer '13 and can we also count in a Pug 205 GTI '88). I've been casually looking at C6 for years but the ones that I could afford seemed a little suspicious in one way or another. Fast forward to last week, a rare 3.0 petrol model which was sold new by a finnish dealer (most are privately imported 2nd hand) came up for sale with a reasonable price tag. I've only done some 300 miles so far but it certainly has caused a stir with my workmates. Looking forward to enjoy the car and fix the occasional glitch or maybe two. Thanks for looking!

 Interesting. I met a Finnish owner with his petrol C6 at the ICCCR in Harrogate back in 2012 which he driven over Europe to the rally.

He explained all about the taxation system which made running a petrol car better in Finland.

Wonder if it's the same car?

 Dave,

If it was Arctic Steel and petrol, it's possible. 2012 would still have been the first owner so I can't really tell.

The road tax is significantly less expensive for a petrol car, but diesel fuel is cheaper so there is a break-even point somewhere around 15000 miles/yr. I don't plan to put nearly as many miles on mine so petrol is a good choice.

 I understand and I can't really remember all the details of it from 6 years ago but maybe Trainman or Hattershaun can as they were also there.
