Would be interested to know fellow C6 owners views on the release of the new Volkswagen Arteon?

Is this the first real attempt since the C6 from a non-luxury badge to try and enter this market? Have to say, I think it looks stunning.

I first marked the C6 as the car I wanted to buy when it was released in 2005 and I was 13 - I finally managed to afford one 10 years later.

I always worried that I would never find a similar car that I like again to buy once the C6 expires - maybe I've just marked the Arteon for purchase in 10 years time like I did with the C6! I haven't fallen in love with it like I did instantly with the C6, but it is nice to see a manufacturer finally having a go at this sort of car again.

If that's got some big engines in it and not the 4 cylinders that everyone seems to be going for these days I'd be quite tempted by one of those.

Downside will be the seats if it's anything like the 'CC' it's replacing as I found them typically German and very hard, not like the C6 armchairs

Frankly spoken, NO, this is NOT a "would be C6" but it is OK and maybe about time that VW admits getting inspired by real design...
Regarding the seats, I could well imagine the VW being hard as concrete.

They have already done it, before the C6 even! It's called Phaeton and the C6 uses the same air diffusion technology in the air-con as the Phaeton.

I think I prefer the C6 2017 model (China only)

Good God, no! B l o o d y awful looking thing!! Perhaps its saving grace would be its comfort, though.

Agree with all the 'hard seats' comments with VWs..

Don't like the external looks myself - fussy, contrived and lacking the grace of the C6 - and the interior is mainly Passat.
