Is it unusual for the 2.7D C6 to achieve over 40 mpg? We just got back from a jaunt to the isle of Lewis and the final tankful, admittedly motorway mostly, returned 41.5 mpg. To me that's damn impressive on any 2 tonne car. The engine runs like a Swiss watch since the breathing restrictions were removed so i assume this will be part of the reason for the better economy. Great engine. The transmission oil change has really made a difference, too. |

Nope! That's very Tom Jones. This was after one of our (regular) trips to Auvergne. Filled up with French derv, as we were getting close to Dieppe, then this image was taken as we arrived home in Warsash, from the Newhaven ferry port: I set the cruise at 100kph, dans l'autoroute, mostly. The 3.0 returned 54.6 on a trip to Bournemouth last weekend; that's now reduced to 39.8 after pootling back across the New Forest and via Beaulieu/Lepe. |
