North Wales C6 Specialists? |

I've had my C6 now since April 2012 (bought from Croxdale Citroen in Durham) and for the first 4 years of ownership I took out a Citroen Used Warranty that covered almost everything other than wear and tear. I certainly had my money's worth! During that time, it was initially serviced by Hartwell in Chester, who never understood the car at all, after which I changed to Stoneacre in Wrexham, who've been pretty good at looking after it but are not cheap, as they're a main dealer. I've mostly serviced my own cars (no Citroens) in the past and still do jobs on our other cars but the C6 scares the hell out of me and I think it's worth paying someone to do the work on this one. There seem to be a few North Wales / Chester C6s on this forum and I'm interested in knowing where you have yours serviced, if you don't do your own. There are a few independents and I think it's good to support these, if they're any good, specifically with the C6. We do this with our Saab. Suggestions and advice welcome. Thanks. |

Thanks Dave. There are couple of others not on the list and more local to us (Keith Davis and Sons near Chester and Double S in Liverpool) but I've no idea what they're like with the C6. Blackpool's quite a hike but at least it's a "destination" where we could occupy ourselves whilst the car's being sorted and there's at least one good report listed. | ||

I used Swansway Citroen for the first couple of years I had mine but I've stopped now because their prices are quite frankly ridiculous. I also am not sure they have any specialist knowledge about the C6 whatsoever. I'd expect them to be fairly interested in the C6 but they just treated it like any other car. I now use a place called Jubilee Garage which is situated between Queensferry and Connah's Quay. They seem to know their stuff and although they aren't C6 specialists, they seem to really appreciate being able to help out with such a unique car. Oh and they obviously don't charge anywhere near as much as Citroen. |

Thanks C6Chester. I'll have a look, as I drive past that way to and from work at the moment. Most garages, as you say, just see the C6 as a car that's overcomplicated and aren't really interested because it's different. | ||

just to add - Dave Ashworth in Marton (Blackpool) looks after ours - excellent, and am aware he also looks after many others - never counted, but imagine a dozen, both local & well beyond ... one being in the next village to ours (we're about 50miles from Dave's) ... |

Thanks ChrisHunter. I would prefer a Citroen specialist and therefore I may give Dave Ashworth a call. Dave also suggested them earlier. I don't have an issue with travelling (who would with a C6??) and Blackpool's "only" about 100 miles from us so we'd probably extend the trip up to the South Lakes if we were to be up that way. I use kieth Davies and son at Aldford near chester for my C6 he used to do my XM for me no problems at all and you get a courtesey car as well Regards john |
