Whilst trying to remove switches one on the square gold colored contacts has gone inside steering boss. How do you remove steering wheel horn pad? Or does anyone know where I can just buy the contacts Citroen wanted to sell complete pair of switches. What is the correct way to remove these switches and covers? Appreciate any help and advice. Was taking off switches as writing on them was peeling. Only had car a week but love it, who wouldn't ! | ||

Observe the battery disconnection procedure -- the bit about waiting three minutes after key-off and opening the boot, then prevent the boot lid from closing (accidentally or otherwise!) by closing the boot latch with a thin screwdriver shaft or a 5mm drill bit. On the bottom edge of the steering wheel there's a small hole, about 7mm diameter; take a long (150mm / 6"), 6mm / 1/4" parallel, flat blade screwdriver (not a 'cabinet' screwdriver, which is the carpenter's type with the flare near to the tip) and hold it with the blade tip oriented fore & aft. Insert the blade into said 'ole and push upwards until it makes contact with the edge of the steel clip; push said clip hard and the airbag enclosure (the steering wheel centre) will pop off. The procedure is in Downloads somewhere... I think it's under 'driver's chest airbag removal' or something like that. |
