I have my wife to thank for arriving on your excellent forum. She had a 2CV twenty years ago and has never really got over parting with it. We came across an immaculate Pluriel Latte on a glorious day last summer. The roof was back a la 2cv and it was irresistible. She had to have one. We eventually found one in Walsall and brought it home on the Liverpool ferry last month. Noisy fun and cheap to run like the 2cv it has persuaded me to try a Citroen after a string of German stuff.

I found my 2007 2.7 Exclusive a few weeks ago but it wallowed dreadfully on my test drive and the dealer was forced to replace the front suspension struts(?) before it behaved properly. Took delivery on Thursday and "depollution fault" came up on Saturday so back to the dealer tomorrow. You don't need me to tell you how special these cars are and it's great to have this resource to make sure they last as long as possible.

Pluriel's a great little car! Your C6 is gonna kill you, though. It's part of a French conspiracy to drive us all mad, at which point they then commence their masterplan of world domiation...

The depol issue will probably be due to a stuck (or failed) EGR valve. If the car's been stood around for a while than that becomes something of a common issue, I'd say. Regular (monthly or bi-monthly) use of Wynn's -- or similar reputable brand -- EGR Cleaner a r s e h o l e spray helps; filling up with only Shell V-Nitro or BP Ultimate, preferably the diesel variant, is almost a prerequisite. If you can't stomach the cost, then at least treat the car to it every third or fourth fill-up!

Soot buildup just kills the internals eventually.

Good handle, btw; Led Zeppelin fan?

EDIT: Just spotted/realised that you're in NI. Oh dear (good luck with finding premium diesel, then...); or is that just a problem outside the fence?

Thanks Steve. Off to my local main dealer tomorrow to have a look at the fault codes. They sounded surprisingly interested which is good because indy specialists are a bit thin on the ground here.
I'll take your advice on the Wynns and I'm using BP Ultimate but I fear the C6 doesn't like my commute and may need a regular thrash up the motorway to keep its tubes clear. I have to say the faster you go the better it gets.

Well Steve the main dealer agreed with your diagnosis of sticking EGR valve. They suggested putting Reddex injector cleaner in the fuel. I'll be trying some Wynns EGR cleaner tomorrow.

You're right about Led Zeppelin but "Dazed and Confused" might have been a better pick as a handle for this forum.

"Dazed and Confused" is fair to say; but "Babe I'm Gonna Leave You" (at a faraway motorway services) leads straight into "I Can't Quit You Baby", then "The Lemon Song" makes way for "Heartbreaker", immediately followed by "Whole Lotta Love"!

I guess I'll just "Ramble On" and "Bring It On Home"...

Just to close this thread I'm running on the most expensive fuel I can find, partially dismantling the. Induction system to use Wynns EGR valve cleaner once a month, and trying to do some motorway miles any time I've been caught in traffic. It's the sort of TLC you might expect to provide for a 1960s
Classic but it's running like a Swiss watch and all warning lights are out. Many thanks for your advice.
