Hi, a bit difficult to say what has happened, have you lost cooling water, so that the engine has become too warm ?, I think of the famous rusty water pipe at left side and the thermostat housing. Try to tell more exactly what has happened, any signs before this happened ?, under what circumstances ? and so on...

Best regards from Krokstadelva, another 2007 C6, noir obsidien with cognac brown leather.

Vennlig hilsen Christian

Hi egegron,
did you check to see if the visible belt down the side of the engine was ok, the serpentine belt. It runs the water pump for circulating the coolant, and also runs the alternator for charging the battery as well. The power steering pump is on that belt as well. If you have any issue here it might explain the symptoms you are reporting? How is your air-con?

Egegron,

Yes, check for your auxiliary belt as 321Dave says. It could be the belt or something failed losing the belt tension!

Best regards,

Well, that was certainly in the upper reaches of quantum physics, n'est ce pas?...

How do some people actually pass a driving test, with such a lack of the most basic knowledge? As Private Fraser would say, "we're all doo-oomed..."!
