Hi, I put my 2007 C6 in to an audio guy to try and find a serious rattle ... and it appears all the "clip" things at the bottom of the door are broken/missing. Which explains the rattle I guess. I'm having trouble getting spare parts guys to understand what it is as they seem to be going off of citroen parts diagrams for the doors, which are pretty ... basic ... What I need is just the white round things that clip into the black molding of the door trim. (pic attached). Does anyone know a part number? Or anywhere they might be available. Thanks Jonathan. |

Since C6 has a rather good sound insulation, all annoying noises tends to be even more annoying. For instance, a vibrating inner trim clip holding the panels to each door. They are designed to break apart in two when removed. But they are not designed to be put together just by hammering the interior trim panel back. This mini-instruction describes only how and why the clips work, the complete dismantle instruction is to be found at C6-owners member section. When the panel has come lose you almost for sure will see this on each clip "fork" On the door side the part with the little knob is still in situ. To remove, gently feel around the collar (a plastic tool might be considered not to scratch the enamel) This is what you're looking for; on each side the tool should gently press this spring, then the ball part will pop out and still be reusable. This is the part as it comes when new. Please note the small black seal. It stops the plastic part from squeaking and is of course essential. It might get damaged when the outer part comes off. It's a good thing to buy some spare clips (part# 00007473FL, approx. 8€ for a bag of 5 pcs) Prior to refitting the trim panel, each clip should be put in place on the panel side leaving the door side holes empty. Either use new clips or, if the seal and all other seems undamaged, "re-arm" the clip by marrying the parts together. Use two flat nose pliers to apply force from each side, the knob will lock into Place Apply all clips on each fork Then it's a simple matter of aligning the trim panel correctly; Before you apply pressure to lock the clips into place, make sure that •all the cables are re-connected should they have been disconnected •the panel is in the slot on top (examine carefully along the slot to make sure you're in the right position) •the connector for the window button is in its right place •the connector for the foot light is not stuck in between panel/door •all clips are aligned in their respective hole Then gently press all clips into locking position. You'll hear all the little springs click into each hole. At least one foam part is used to press the panel outwards, make sure you press the panel enough over each clip to secure the clip locking’s. Since the spring is jagged you might want to click into "second lock step" to force the panel firmer against the door. |
