Hi all,
I have a new accelerometer sensor to replace this evening. It's under the carpet beside the drivers seat. Just wondering if anybody has experience of removing the driver seat from the car. A few questions I have are related to how to best unclip the harnesses? The download is a little short on advice. If anybody has tried this removing a front seat before I'd be grateful for any tips or advice. Thanks again.

Well, i removed the drivers seat and the good news first is that its not very difficult, but the bad news is after going to all the trouble and replacing the accelerometer under the carpet with a brand new one it made no difference! So now i'm wondering is the message referring to something else like maybe to the drivers seat belt pretensioner instead? I was reading on another forum post as well that somebody was saying the Can bus system can sometimes not correctly pin point the issue. It seemed fairly definite about what was wrong, but replacing the part does not seem to fix the problem? any ideas?

Detect_Choc_Pieton means shock pedestrian detected or the like. Seems to be pointing towards the special protection unit under the bonnet which will be activated when hitting something head on. This raises the bonnet with a small airbag like device to create a bigger deformable volume so the impact on the pedestrians head is less severe...

Hi Furriegurrie,
as far as I know nothing has been deployed in that area. The lexia points to the rh accelerometer getting no signal. But when replaced made no difference. And the code could not be deleted. I'm just wondering what to try next?

I'm not sure what exactly is involved in that system. Maybe it has a rh accelerator sensor too? I was just thinking that you might be searching in the wrong area.
I think I have read somewhere that you can disable this pedestrian protection system with lexia. Maybe try that to see if the error dissapears?

One thing to check is the pedestrian impact sensor behind the front grille. I got the same message (don't know about the fault code because I had no Lexia at this time). The cable to the sensor was loose and the air pressure from the front tear it apart eventually. At first it was intermittent and appeared only at higher speeds and dissapeared when slowed down. Reattached the wires to the connector, secured the cable and warning message was gone. It is one possibility.

You certainly can disable the pedestrian impact system on the C6. I'd done it on my old car.

David.

Thanks for help furrie and Vaho, some good ideas to try out and see if I can element the problem this weekend. It triggers the service light on the dash and flags up on the main screen at startup only. But otherwise it doesn't effect anything else ( as far as I know). It's just annoying to have the service light on all the time.

I might try the disable function David and see if that helps. What's the best route? Diagbox menu or lexia menu? I'm thinking lexia is easier to see the menu listing options as far as I've used both anyway.
