Hi all, with the first (volume - ha) UK sales of the C6 back in 2006, there is the possibility that someone has owned a Citroen C6 for 10 years. Can anyone put their hand up for this? Note, it has to be the same car, not serial ownership of several C6s which I know is the case for several forum members.

Failing to get to 10 years, whats the longest ownership period. I'm at 2 months short of 7 years.

regards
G

I'm coming up to eight years - collected mine on Christmas Eve 2008.
The car itself is nearly ten years old (registered January 2007).
I've covered over 170,000 miles in it.

... it is in the garage today for a new front lower FRIP joint. By recollection it has chewed through two each side so far.

8 years is getting up there and close to the magic 10.

Are you planning on sticking with it for a few more years?

A chap I know called Steven de Goey, from Citroen Car Club UK, bought his 2.7HDi Exclusive new in 2006, he still had it earlier this year, at 120,000 miles approx.

Don't know if he's a member here, he is a member of the Citroen C6 Facebook group.

Thanks Shaun, that's at least one 10year owner. Can you suggest to Steven that he joins the forum?

Hi

Bought mine March 2009, so seven and a half years ownership. It was built October 2006 so the car itself is ten years old now. Had about 3K miles on it when I bought it and now circa 70K. Fairly reliable over the years - the usual things reported on here - tyre valves, FRIP joints and an alternator. I intend to hold on to the car for a few more years, so fingers crossed!

Sticking with it for as long as is reasonable - I think we are past the point where it is worth selling it. Mind you, it looks very good for the miles - full Citroen service history and no more than a couple of paint scratches.

Nothing else has come along to tempt me out of it.

Oh, and I need to get value from the lifetime warranty...

My C6 has been my loyal companion for just over 8 years. First registered June 2006 as a Citroen UK management car, purchased in June 2008 with 7,000 miles on the clock, now showing 39,000. My son met the chap who designed the C6 interior a couple of weeks ago (he now works for Jaguar/LandRover designing interiors). He advised every C6 was hand built and lost PSA thousands of Euros on every one of the 20,000 or so that were built from 2005 to 2012. Less than 1,000 were right hand drive UK spec.

"Loyal companion", that's a good way of describing mine as well.

Its always carried 4 or 5 on holidays and to family gatherings with ease and comfort. I previously did a lot of boat towing with it. For the last 3 years its hauled huge quantities of building materials, rubble, wood etc so it works hard and is reliable and superb. I must admit that I'm in effect the 1st owner so know the cars history (purchased as a managers special).
