I'm in the process of ordering the bits & pieces up so that I can install this onto my 3.0 HDi C5 and 3.0 HDi 407 Coupé. Will hopefully get them ordered tomorrow and see whats what! David. |

Right, I've just found prices for all of the parts required. The level sensor brand new is only £17. 1306E3 isn't a valid part number from Peugeot or Citroen. 1306F2 is the part number that's fitted to the 2.0 HDi Peugeot 407. 1306F2 - Level Sensor - £17.86 6541F3 - Electrical Plug - £4.79 6541E7 - Harness Clip - £0.62 6541Z2 - Harness Clip - £0.82 6541Z1 - Harness Clip - £0.37 Total cost - £24.46 using all brand new parts that you can get straight from the Citroen/Peugeot main dealer. If you haggle a bit they'll usually give you some discount too. I've ordered 10m of thin wall cable tonight too so there should be more then enough to do both of our cars. David. |

The sensor 1306F2 is presumably discontinued and replaced with part 1323V1 which is actually the tank without sensor. Information from german forum. So if you get the parts please share what did you actually received. The 3.0 HDI is presumably the same. In Lexia you can find the pin layaout so I suggest you check that out first to be sure. If I remember correctly you can access the fuse box layout: Global test and then select engine relay unit but don´t click Enter. On the bottom is a window with toothed wheels, click on that and then select engine fuse box. From there you can examine the terminal layout of the connectors. |

According to Citroen Service the 1306E3 is still available as sensor for C5 I and it lists on the carparts-pros.com site for 55,30 €: wheather you can actually get it is another matter. http://www.carparts-pros.com/page_1_3.php#oeformo  |

Hi all, if anyone is having difficulties getting new parts, loads of coolant tanks complete with sensors on ebay. Here's an example (cost less than £7). - Click Here -. Sometimes, the seller still has the wiring harness connector attached to the tank sensor where the dismantler has just cut the wires. Regards G |

Thank you Steve and all of you. I really could not do it without the help of this community. I got the initial push from already existing post about the level sensor, from there I got the information about the sensor terminals for example. Regarding used sensors, I bought one also but it is wise to check them before installation, some may not work as they are old. On the other hand used ones are cheap and there is no complicated electronics that could brake easily. Just measure that it sends 5V signal when submerged and 0V when dry. |

I'm already ordering the parts this morning. Can't help thinking it's crazy this setup was not fitted in the factory considering the parts were developed and available? Was PSA trying to deliberately under develope the whole coolant system in the C6! It's looking very much like that now? Why, were the accountants allowed to pull an important safety feature from the car for the few pence it would of cost to include? It's seems deliberate, considering what we all know about the various inlet, outlet and coolant pipe weaknesses. Anyway, the main thing is we have another solution so we can move forward and fix that particular problem. Many thanks Vaho. |

Hi David, just checking the codes on Citroen midi l'orient, the Citroen level sensor is priced at €52 and the Peugeot level sensor is €24? I was able to use the 1306E3 part number on the website. Are they the same part physically or differant in some way! They are both described as level sensors for coolant. Just thought to check. |

I've just spoken to Glasgow Citroen on the phone. Apparently 1306F2 is a good part number that still shows as being available, it retails at just over £14 plus VAT. I looked at 1306F2 as it's the same sensor that was fitted to the petrol C6's. They were fitted in the bottle but not connected to anything. I've taken a picture off the current eBay advert for the petrol V6 in the Shetlands. You can see it there.  6541F3 has a minimum order quantity of 4, 6541Z1 and 6541Z2 both have a minimum order quantity of 10 from the main dealer, I've ordered 10 of 6541E7 as well. David. |
