Did they vacuum the car too? Maybe they moved the seat forward to vacuum the back and forgot to move it to it's original position?

FreakyFrenchFan wrote ... ...The total cost to change the cambelt, three tensioners, the water pump, the auxillary belt and the coolant came to about £520... That sounds pretty reasonable... 160,000 normal usage. 120,000 severe usage or every 10 years. My car is 10 years old in February and has currently done 111,000 miles.

Clarification for European, Antipodean and Asian friends, that's thousands of miles (not kilometers) regards G |

Mine is approaching 10 years too. On 135k kms now. I've order an skf kit for the 2 belts en all tensioners and idlers. Was €240,- so not too expensive. Not in a hurry to change it, the belts I've seen were all in very good nick age wise....

Well it didn't take long! Since the cam belt and water pump change I have been getting a sporadic warning saying "suspension fault". This is despite the suspension appearing to work normally. IE- the usual floaty ride and the ability to manually adjust ride height. Would anything done during the cam belt and water pump change cause any issues with the suspension?

Did you perhaps knock the wiring to, or link pin on the RH lower suspension arm height sensor ? It's quite in the line of fire if you're working n the wheelarch. Mike. |

It'll probably be the bracket on the wishbone that holds the height corrector link. They corrode and become wafer thin. They're held onto the wishbone by one bolt and cost around £6 each. I had to replace them on my 2.7 at 45k miles. David. |
