Slowly working my way around the car (week 4) and thinking about planned maintenance for the next 12 months. Something I haven't been able to find on the site is any feedback from people who have changed their DPF filter - the actual filter, not the additive fluid. (I have read the technical articles and forum posts about the systems, how they work and the fluid top ups.) Has anyone done this as a precaution? I understand they have a planned life of 150k so given my mileage should I be planning it in? Has anyone done it through failure? I would appreciate any thoughts / advice. Cheers N |

I'm on 171K miles and have only this year had to top-up the additive fluid for the first time. The book says 80K top-up fluid, 120K replace DPF. Based on this I'm hoping to get close to 250K miles before replacing the DPF and my main agent has advised to only do anything DPF related when the car tells me. Never had a DPF fault as yet. 2.7 is likely to get to these warnings earlier than 2.2 - additive use is directly related to fuel used. |

Dan595 - many thanks for the feedback. I like that sort of advice - leave it alone! Plenty of other things for to play with ...... |
