Moi Eke, I will write in English although Scottish I can speak & write in Finnish!I took the speedometer to Elehuolto in Tampere & according to the tech he could not or would not fix it because 12v were coming through components in a lot of places!
Did anybody have a similar problem with there speedometer but was fixable anyway?
Thanks & Best wishes, Willthor.

Moi, moi,
This Elkotron guy has repaired many Citroen C6 speedometers in Finland, including mine a year ago. He gives 12 month warranty for his job. Send him a mail describing the symptoms and the comments of the Elehuolto tech.

Hi All,
First Thanks to all who helped with the info about the board display.
Today I replaced the integral 4431B and everything is working normal now.
I was prepared to replace the transistors BCP54 too but appears I have different modification – 915055 which are more powerful (55V, 5.5A, 8W) in comparing to BCP54 (45V, 1A, 1.3W). My C6 is 2.7 HDI, December, 2007.
Merry Christmas!

Happened to me today, 2008 car, first time, speedometer did not show any life when started the car up. Did not notice any flickering before. Thank god for this forum and thank god for HUD(had a XM with speedo that did not work and used tachometer for the speed), trying to get a time to my mechanic next week and see what happens.

edit// started working again 2 days later, still going to let to check it out

Update time, the display worked fine for a week after it was blacked out for an evening. Still got it refurbished.

Just for information, in Estonia there is a bloke that is repairing the display, he is based in Tartu and accepts sending the unit to him. - Click Here -

Since I live in Tartu, I got the repaired display back in the same day

Hi
My display on my 2007 2,7 hdi exclusive has been, knock on wood, good until now and still no problems and 221000km. So I thought maybe it's time to try to avoid future problem and black display. The 3 hot components have now better cooling after I made an aluminum cooling plate/fin. A lot more mass and surface to get the heat away from the small poor components struggling with the heat. I used two 1,5mm 40x40mm plates and arranged it as you see on the pictures. Used heat transfer paste between components and cooling plates and a screw in the plastic back cover to get a good firm pressure between cooling plate and components. Time will show:-)
