Oily steering rack gaiters?

 I've found oil residue/droplets along the bottom of the rubber steering rack gaiter bellows - similar on both sides of the car (2006 2.7 V6). It's not seriously leaking and I can't find any splits in the gaiters.

Does anyone have any ideas/experience on the likely cause please. I haven't seen any other posts on this.
Car only done 53k miles.
