Hi again.
i am gradualy restoring a poorly looked after c6,

It has a problem with the deflector not working, i put it on lexia and got comms error so as rear trim was loose i removed it and the deflector was unplugged!
so i plugged back in the comms error went away, But the deflector will not operate i tried lexia to activate it as well as the service position with wiper switch method,
Then tried to initialise with lexia now got continuous error fail to initilise
and in fault log on mfd says deflector faulty

any ideas,
Thanks Simon

Lubricating the moving parts has helped in many cases.
Spoiler needs to be in the raised position, for access to the rod mechanism, a light spray grease should do the trick.

unfortunately i cannot get it in raised position even by using wiper service position like my previous c6,
This one the deflector wont budge at all, Even using lexia to do actuator tests i also initilised it via lexia now i have permanent fault failure to initialise

Think you may need to do some dismantling then!

Are you sure it's not a 2.2 which does not have a movable rear deflector

Hi Simon,
I'm in a similar position regarding renovating the C6. I don't have the spoiler issue though at the moment, but a few times when I pulled in it was still stuck open. It needed a few sprays and retracted down. And now it fine all the time. As long as the motor is ok and link rods aren't detached(most unlikely) it's most likely just stuck a bit.

Yes Norman it definately has movable deflector, its a 2.7hdi exclusive,
and lexia reports it as there manufacturer Afil same as my previous c6 ,
Also i can actually see the motor with trim removed.

They do tend to seize if not lubricated, try spraying Ferrosol in there, use the long tube (provided) to get under the deflector if it's stuck down.

Set your wipers to service mode first as this should deploy the deflector, obviously it won't in your case but it will allow you to try and free it if you can gain access with a large flat blade such as one of the plastic service tools that are available.
EXERCISE CAUTION THOUGH !!

A new motor kit is about £450 and it's a lengthy job
