We recently took our C6 to a Citreon dealership for new brake discs and pads and it came back with ABS faults, parking brake fault and ESP faults (all new problems). We decided not to take the car back to the garage and will steer clear of it in the future. Can anybody recommend a good honest garage in the Beds/Herts/Bucks/Cambs area? Further afield would be considered too. Many thanks

Hi Harvey, you might soon add in Sat Nav faults to your list.

The ABS, ESP, Parking brake faults are probably all caused by the same issue (a faulty rear ABS sensor or cable or connector).

In fairness to the dealer, this could have happened with any "good" garage. It just depends on whether there was an underlying fault.

How did the dealer explain himnself and what was the offered explanation/solution?

Regards
G

We have a 'Service Review' section where you can search via post code - Click Here - but probably the best for C6's in your area would be BL Autos - Click Here -

I can recommend BLAutos, they work on all my cars, for the last 15+ years.
Many other C6 owners have found them knowledgeable, skilled and good value.
They are all long standing Citroen enthusiasts too.

For bucks, go to Forge in Cookham. Very good. Actually it might be in Berks, just.

I second the recommendation of Forge in Cookham. Have used them for a year now, fixed ABS/ Parking brake warnings (rear sensor) and have subsequently had a service, all at £60/hr

I, also, go to Forge in Cookham (yes, it's Berks), they've had my C6 in there for servicing , and minor fettling, for years and also I've had various faults corrected on the roadster- which no longer breaks down......

I have a problem. My garage (Frontlines in Chesterfield) of many years is closing.
Can anyone recommend a good independent garages within 10 miles or so of Sheffield/Chesterfield.
Many thanks to anyone who replies

Presumably you have checked the Other Services garage ratings?

For the C6, it might be worth travelling further (than 10 miles) and getting a specialist who knows the C6.

Could you increase your specified range?

That's very true. You will need a competent garage for a start, who have serviced or repaired a C6 before or at least has some idea of what to expect from a C6. On the forum recently there was talk from a forum member who was told by a Citroen garage that they needed a "special tool" before the timing belt could be replaced for example. We're all still scratching are heads regarding the turn of phrase used!
