Not sure why anyone is complaining about this supply problem, when there is am efficient repair service being offered with warranty.

Hi All,
I previously posted that I recently received a new strut with Amvar for a drivers side 2.7 from France in about 5days?
€277 and free delivery.

Kind regards

Yeah I'll have to look into that Gerry. I can't afford to have the car off the road for too long. Sorry Dave by strut I didn't think you meant the shock. My apologises. That's a fantastic price for strut and shock. Dealer was doing me a price for purchase and fitting.

Hi Pat, I have a new spare strut in my stocks.

I would want a new replacement but not cash, so if you are stuck consider that amongst your options. However it sounds as though Citroen L'Orient may well be your best bet ( I have had quite a few bits from them and always good value and reliable).

My new RH strut is has the new part number and is produced in fabruary 2014. Plastic support in the engine bay is white, not orange/brown.

There is NO play between metal and the white plastic support, but on the other side, there is 2-3 mm between brown plastic and metal. Should I be worried ?

Hi Tjensen,
The one I received just recently has a build date of 09/07/14 and has original orange rubberised top?
Kind regards

Mine with the white plastic has the same Citroen part no and also same identity numbers on the part (KYB-8367, 9674996180, produced 20-02-14 21:10. Same part.

The left one, from 15-03-2010 is marked APA-KYB 8324, 9667013580. It has 3-4mm opening down to the orange/Brown plastic part. So the question is then if I should do a "preventive" change also on this side ?

Thank you Gerry for your kind offer. I'll check l'orient for new pieces. I was so new to ownership that I just went to the dealers. Ive deal done with the dealer where they agreed to supply and fit the shock for 450 euro. If they keep messing me around Ill take you up on your offer. From now on l'orient will be my main port of call. Getting a bit. Annoyed with the car. A lot of issues coming up. DPF blocked tonight. But in fairness these are all up for service as the milage is 120k. Hopefully the car will begin to settle down.

Hi TJenson,
could you post a picture of the new Strut you received with the white rubber top section! I've never seen one before! Interesting the change of colour, might be a differant manufacture?

Kind regards

I suppose because I need my car everyday and having to wait 12 weeks and counting, or 7 days for a repaired part is not good enough.

Waiting for parts seem to be a local problem, not a Citroen /PSA problem

Hi everyone!,

sorry to revive an old thread but did anyone try to install a non-amvar shock in their C6? I mean getting one from a C5 or a 4-pot C6 and transferring their amvar valve from the old shock? I know it was mentioned somehwere that it possibly could be done but did anyone actually do it ? The non-amvar shocks (5271L5 and L6) are half the price so it might be a good budget fix.

Kind regards,

Piotrek
