Nickyg, thank you for your feedback.

The price should decide the winner (Rainsport 2 or Sport Maxx that is...).

Meanwhile I'm reading about Kumho's Ecsta KU19, Toyo's CF1 and Yokohama Avs Db, but the feedback is not as good.

Regards.

Another rather well rated tyre: Nokian Z G2.

Just trying to spend less than €200,00 (£162) per tyre without falling in the budget category (the Sunew's fitted on my C6 are awful in the dry (just imagine in the wet)...

Well, after a long search I finally decided to go for Dunlop.

It'll be the cheaper between the SP Sport 01 and the SP Sport Maxx.

Cheers.

Hi!

Just to let you know that I've fitted four Dunlop SP Sport 01 (245/45R18) on the C6 and so far so good.

I'm very pleased with the dry and wet grip/confort/noise level, as I think this tire works pretty well with the car (hope for a reasonable mileage too...).

The price was "fair" (under €200 each).

Best regards.

P.S: The Dunlop's that I've fitted carry the "J" mark that stands for Jaguar's fitment. From a big saloon to another.

Fitted Falkens and managed 16k miles, would have got yet another 5k+ but for Citroen garage not realligning the steering geometry for camber / caster after a front suspension refit. Common Citroen wake up to the fact your service centres are NAF.

Hi JCS,

Was that 16K from the set or just from the fronts? I'm guessing set?

I've just had my front suspension rebuilt & I've noticed that it feels a little different in terms of steering. The weight is heavier & the car pointier than it was. Could this be a camber/caster issue? And was it right before or now!? I may get them to look at it again.

Last year replaced original Michelein Fronts with Falkerns and had tracking done as had wear on inside edge of tyres, after 15000 miles will have to soon replace, as now outside edge on left front badly worn, will have to check track again. Replaced rears 3000 miles ago with a set of Altenzo sports comforters, designed in Australia, fitted for £138.00. So far pretty pleased. Decided that 2 for the price of on Falkern was worth trying and if they were rubbish could replace. Handle well, 62 mph average on drive from North Norfolk to London.

Hi!

Just to let you guys know that...

Two years and 20.000 Km later and the Dunlop's SP Sport 01 still doing their job.

I'm very pleased with the tyre (dry and wet gry and also rolling noise and confort) and I hope for at least another 15.000 Km until the front tyres need to be replaced.

Best regards.

I recently fitted
Continental SportContact 5 245/45 R18 100Y XL with kerbing rib

I'm very happy with them. I particularly wanted tyres that would perform well in the wet. I've not done 1,000 miles on them yet, but they seem nice and quiet and to ride well. Handling and grip are great (it is amazing how you can throw the C6 into corners hard - with it switching the springing and damping rates as you do).

But it still skips sideways a lil' bit if the road's surface is not perfect, right?!?

Cheerios,
Sam
