Ladies and Gentlemen,

Julian Marsh posted this article on Facebook, which I've translated via Google, and it appears a petition is underway to ask PSA to reconsider its decision to end Citroen's tradition of hydraulic suspension.

That's because of the Google Translation affecting the .js in it. You need to go to the main petition page - Click Here -

At the risk of upsetting well, almost everyone......is it the end of the world? The system doesn't define Citroen. Monocoque construction, front wheel drive, the 2CV, the flat 4 of the GS/GSA, the Wankel birotor, low Cd/Cx use avant garde styling, being contrarian, not running with the herd - aren't these what define the brand? Engineering solutions.

The current system - however good it is, could be bettered by a proper active suspension system as pioneered by Lotus in F1 way back - when the technology couldn't really cope. But with todays computing power & electronics surely this would be a better direction? S-Class Merc tech for the common man! Frankly isn't a 60 year old system a bit of a throw back? If its that great why wasn't it universally adopted? Mourn its passing. Keep its spirit alive - just find a 21st century solution.

Citroen developed active suspension on the DS and put it into production in the Xantia Active, the world record holder in the "elk test" (sudden double avoidance).

Frankly, if PSA have moved ahead with their product planning, signing a petition is a waste of time.

Signed, but annoyed at the amount of personal info they want, like DOB. Why do they need to know that? It's just data mining. Anyway, I use the Chris Huhne method in these situations (lie like hell).

If they really do drop hydraulics then they will lose me as a customer, a customer of over 20 years.

Likewise, 'jackanory' doesn't come into it, but they will have your IP so it would be better to go to somewhere like say McDonalds and sit outside and use there free wifi

For these purposes, I am always 100 years old.
