I am buying some maintenance items to be on the safe side (for the very LOW production volume, but very good C6 3,0 Hdi) Brake parts in house (redstuff), oil and air filter is easy to get, BUT THE FUEL (DIESEL) FILTER IS A PROBLEM. (and it should be changed more often than the 40 000km recommendation)

-Good ideas for a source ? (I think part no may be Bosch 0 450 902 161, Alco MD-665 , Citroen 1901 AL) Is it the same as the 2,7 variant and/or the C4 ?

Is it also advisable to buy the belts (register and auxillary incl rollers)

The 3.0 fuel filter has a replaceable element which you can get separately.

Citroën themselves will provide parts for 10 years from now, so, until December 2022, I think we have nothing to worry about...

BTW, just got new wiper blades... The original ones were Valeo AFAIK, the ones I took off of mine were Champion, probably installed by the 1st owner, and now I got Bosch (same as for the Pug 407)... So far, they're excellent - it's been raining a lot in the past few weeks, so I had plenty of chances to test them out... The best part about them is that they were half the price of either the Champion or the Valeo and as far as I can tell, the same quality, if not even better

Cheerios,
Sam

I got complete brake parts for my 3,0 Hdi from EBC/UK: Redstuff pads and Turbo Groove discs for the front and standard EBC pads and disc for the back. Brakes are superb with the factory originals and spares are not needed for another year or two, but feels good to have. The fronts pads did not have wear indicators connections, is that a problem ?

Not as long as you check them on a regular basis. You may wish to disable the 'wear' function via Lexia, but my last car had broken wires and didn't throw any error messages........

I think only one of the sides has wear sensors, front or back, not both, I think back, or at least that's what I remember

Cheers,
Sam

Wear indicators are only on the front brake pads. However a lot of C6's have these wires damaged and when no connection is made with the brakr pad wear lead no message will be given. (This system works by a wire in the brake pad that connects to ground through the brake disk once the brake pad has worn off beyond a certain point).

Thanks. I had this system first on the DS. Was Citroen first here also ? (they were first with disc brakes on a production car)

Hi all, I've been using Mann filters for last few years but finding them hard to get without paying silly prices for postage. So UFI equivalents have been ordered, part numbers as below:-

Cabin Aircon Filter (for cars with Visteon system up to about 2008) UFI 54.142.00

Diesel Fuel Filter for 2.7HDi UFI 26.037.00

Engine Oil Filter for 2.7HDi UFI 25.066.00

check the UFI online catalogue if you have a different car specification.

Note, I used the UFI engine oil filters for the Citroen C4 for 5 years, very good
