London - Harrogate 9 August

 Hello,
Will start with my C6 from the London area towards Harrogate around noon on 9 August. Any suggestions for a location between the two to stay overnight (closer to Harrogate but outside of major urban centres)?

 Any particular reason why as it isn't that far up to Harrogate?

How close do you want to be, do you want a 'budget' hotel, camp site etc?

BTW will be in Harrogate in the C6 so hopefully will meet up with you at some point

 Thank you, no reason other than
- not wanting to overextend my daily driving on the curbside
- wanting to see at least one location on the way
- not having accommodation at the ICCCR until Friday
I do not carry camping gear, so a budget to mid-range hotel should do. And like I said, closer to Harrogate (two thirds - three quarters or so of the way). While at the ICCCR, look for a Deep Red petrol version...

 OK then so instead of going up the M1 Motorway, go up the A1 and stop over in Grantham or Newark areas.

A1 is dual carriageway but a nicer drive than the motorway
